Agriculture Value Chain.
This project has been undertaken in partnership with Bengal Meat in santhia and Sujanagar Upazillas of Pabna district. Overall goal of this project is to Improve livestock value chain, in particular beef and sheep, providing quality meat produced by smallholder farmers without subsidized inputs/support. The long term objectives include increased income of the producers (Farmers), employment creation through value chain mechanism, and improved value chain governance/organization. This a three- year project started from January 2015. In the first two years the Farmers will deliver 1400 quality cattle to Bengal meat and in the final year the farmers are expected to deliver more than 5000 cattle. Bengal meat has been providing necessary training to the farmers on beef fattening. CCDB will select farmers from the working areas as well as coordinate with Bengal meat.
