Everyone has the right to live in peace, so that they can explore their capacities and using them for individual and collective development. Political disagreement, conflict of leadership, gender inequity, expansion of fundamentalism and violence, violation of right to natural resources, inequitable distribution of wealth and resources, and the degradation of ethical and moral values are common in Bangladesh.
Since last three decades CCDB is addressing the issue of peace and societal harmony through media campaign and implementing IEC activities like establishment of billboards. In addition, CCDB is trying to reduce the vulnerability of the poor to suffer from societal and other form of conflicts. Besides some of the tensions or conflicts also generate from the interventions taken by the development and aid agencies and rather reducing a problem it exacerbates the conflict to a new level. Keeping this in mind Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB), with the financial assistance of Bread for the World (BftW)- Germany started the ‘Capacity Building for Promotion of Peace (CBPP)” in the year 2005 as a part of the Regional Mainstreaming Process for LCP in South Asia. In this process, the CASA, India is playing the role of LCP network Secretariat.
The year 2023 is the running phase (5th phase) and 2024-2026 is the 6th phase of our Capacity Building for Promotion of Peace (CBPP) program.
