    Resilience Building

“Bringing People in Action” is at the core of this component. Local communities in Bangladesh’s hot spot regions of climate change are supported to build up ‘Community Climate Resilience Centers’ (CCRC) as a means to enhance the capacity of climate vulnerable people to become more climate resilient, and to make a life in dignity. A main focus is put on the development of effective and locally accepted low-cost technologies with a potential to be scaled up and replicated.
The regional focus is laid on the coastal parts of Bangladesh, which are most endangered by large scale climate change impacts as cyclones, flooding, sea level rise, salinization and heatwaves. Community Resilience Building is composed of:

  • Climate risk analysis at household and community level
  • Development of ‘Community Climate Resilience Centers’
  • Innovation and extension of climate adaptive technologies
  • Fostering the social dimension of community resilience building
  • Enabling people to raise their voices and engage with local authorities
