Promoting knowledge & solutions to build climate resilience

The Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) is a national NGO established in 1973 envisioning a just and caring society where people live in peace, with dignity and harmonious relationship with all God’s creations. On the basis of ecumenical principles, CCDB is working with thousands of households in 28 different districts of Bangladesh to create a society where the poor, marginalized and vulnerable people can claim and enjoy their rights and seek justice for a sustainable livelihood.

Experiencing the devastating consequences of climate disasters in Bangladesh, CCDB realized that concrete solutions are needed to address climate change problems to initiate the transition to a climate resilient future. Therefore, CCDB set up a dedicated Climate Change Program in 2009.The program aims to create a climate sensitive and resilient society. It emphasizes on knowledge generation and sharing, climate learning and education, innovation of climate solutions, technology demonstration and dissemination, capacity development and community resilience building.
