CCDB Scholarship Program for Sustainable Climate Actions: Empowering Future Leaders

From Classrooms to Communities: Building Climate Resilience Through Research and Leadership

Climate change impacts vary by region, necessitating localized solutions despite the universal nature of its scientific foundation. In Bangladesh, where vulnerability to climate change is acute, there is a pressing need for context-specific research and action-oriented solutions. However, the lack of an interactive learning environment and adequate research facilities often limits the ability to generate practical, context-relevant solutions.  Academic studies frequently result in superficial analyses, contributing little to societal needs or policy formulation. This inefficiency undermines the potential for evidence-based interventions to improve climate resilience among vulnerable populations. Resources for studying zone-specific climate impacts and adaptation strategies are scarce, leaving students ill-prepared to contribute meaningfully in their professional lives. This scholarship program serves as a call to action—empowering researchers through capacity building and research support to bridge the gap between academic effort and real-world impact. This initiative will prepare a new generation of leaders equipped to address climate challenges through a blend of theoretical understanding and practical engagement.
