From 𝟭𝟳–𝟮𝟭 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, CCDB participated in the 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 under the 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗮𝗷 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, held in Nagarkot, Nepal, and hosted by the 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲.
The five-day convening brought together feminist leaders, activists, and practitioners from 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵, 𝗡𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 to share experiences, learn from one another, and explore new approaches to feminist leadership and women’s rights.
𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀, who actively participated throughout the convening. A key highlight was CCDB’s dedicated session, “𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵,” held on 20 August.
Instead of a conventional presentation, the CCDB team introduced Bangladesh’s feminist journey through 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰, 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀. The session began with puthi gaan, a traditional Bengali form of sung storytelling, giving participants a glimpse into the experiences, struggles and contributions of Bangladeshi women.
The team then presented a 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, highlighting important milestones, struggles, and the contributions of women’s rights leaders. The session concluded by showcasing 𝗖𝗖𝗗𝗕’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, along with inspiring stories of women who are creating positive change in their own communities.
Through this participation, CCDB not only shared Bangladesh’s rich feminist history and experiences 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.
