Climate Technology Park  


Climate Technology Park, is one of the initiative by Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) in Bangladesh. The objective of the initiative is to demonstrate low cost technologies related to climate change adaptation and mitigation that can be replicated at community level, both in urban and rural setting of Bangladesh. The project at present is funded by the Bread for the World (Bftw) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Technology park, is a facility to contribute to the effort which will be demonstrating the technologies related to adaptation and mitigation that can be implemented by the poor and marginalized communities in particular women at rural and urban spaces. Over a period of time, the facility will becoming a learning center as well which will facilitate knowledge generation and capacity building to those working on climate change in Bangladesh and beyond.

Climate technology park is located in Sreepur, Gazipur. There are 3 sections of the park comprised of 51 acre of land that includes the technology section, learning center including accommodation and an relaxation section. the technology section where the key adaptation and mitigation technologies will be demonstrated is about 27.34 acre of area. The park will be a space where visitors, especially the children, students, teachers, practitioners and policy makers can learn the technologies from a range of different options including traditional indigenous ones as well as the new technologies.



The CTP started its journey in early 2016. At present, the park is going through its primary construction phase such as designing of the park, 3D mapping and selection of spaces for technologies. It is expected that the CTP will be open for the visitors by the end of 2017.
